Milk on My Tea

I have this current fascination with milk tea. It all started on New Year's Eve when my sister-in-law served us milk tea after our midnight feast. I rarely drink hot tea and the cup of milk tea I had that time was a pleasant surprise. That was the start of my mild addiction to after dinner milk tea.

Now, I also have milk tea instead of coffee in the morning. I noticed that it helped me with my digestion and bowel movements. The palpitations I get from having coffee also started getting less except of course when I'm having my favorite Venti cup of Starbucks peppermint mocha, haha!

I use the Twinings black tea that I got from my sister-in-law who brought home a big bag of it from the UK last Christmas. The teabags did not have strings attached to it which I liked better. I always pour fresh milk and use two packs of Nutrasweet since I use a really tall mug. I read from the Wikipedia entry on Hong Kong style milk tea that the vendors in HK use evaporated milk. Some even use condensed milk for a richer and sweeter flavor but I know that I can't have that. Evap will be a cheaper option for me. At least, Rap will be happier that I won't have to share his supply of fresh milk once I use evap. But I guess, I will have to stick with fresh milk since its the closest thing I get to have to drinking milk. (I can't stand the taste of milk as it is.)

Have you ever tried having milk tea before? How did you find it?
