Foot X-ray

Remember when I wrote about my painful, swollen toe in the first week of August? Well, it's not swollen anymore but it is still painful. Too painful that I still can't wear closed shoes, even my Crocs! A former classmate, who's now a nurse in the US, told me to have it checked because the toe might be fractured. It got me worried because it has already been three weeks since my mini-accident with the car door.

So I had an X-ray done just to be on the safe side. Thankfully, the results showed that there was no fracture. My doctor told me to give it at least a month for the tender toe muscle to heal itself. As usual for diabetics, the healing process is way longer that one should expect. I was advised to avoid closed shoes and applying pressure on the toe until it heals.

I learned my lesson well and I'm a lot more careful than before especially with my feet. It was traumatic, actually. I even had a dream of my toes being run over by truck wheels. Thank goodness it's all just a dream!

Accidents are not meant to happen but they can be prevented. Safety should always be the top priority.

I broke my middle toe and was just told to tape the adjoining toe together for 6 weeks.  I did that and now, weeks later my whole foot is hurting.  Can't even walk for five minutes on it.  Went to water aerobics todays and I am paaiiiiiiinnnnnn.
Some people think breaking a is a minor thing, but it isn't.
I saw an acquaintance of mine and she had a broken toe and was in a brace.  I was told put cotton balls between your toes and tape it up.

Oh, so sorry to hear that. My toe still hurts a little when I wear closed shoes. At least, my mind is clear that there's no fracture. Hope you'll feel better soon.
